Hey, im 3rd year mbbs student. I am fond of psychiatry after my graduation. Any suggestions for me? Or any books which I can read in my undergraduation time?
You can refer to - Psychology by Saundra K Ciccarelli, Diagnostic and Statistical manual 5 and Foundations of Psychology by Neil Carlson to begin with.
Best authors to read are : https://mangoclinic.com/top-30-psychology-authors-bringing-a-revolution-in-the-world-of-mental-health/
Their books are aligned perfectly with theories and are up to date with latest therapies and intervention methods.
I recommend [Klitzman's] book as a valuable account of one particular kind of training that goes into becoming a psychiatrist". https://esacare.com/emotional-support-animal-for-depression/
Hey Soon to be Doc, 🙂
I am glad you are doing great in your life and I am sure you would be a great doctor. Keep the hard work going. You can read several books on Psychology and psychiatry, such as "Personality Disorders In Modern Life" by Theodore Milton. You should start with reading articles about the prevalent kind of mental health disorder and problems that people are widely dealing with. I would really suggest you read this article https://ezcareclinic.com/3-ways-to-deal-with-work-anxiety-according-to-top-18-experts/ as you will find some great psychologists too who can guide you. I hope this helps! 🙂
